Hey everybody! Little by little, rainy autumn comes to its end and we want to announce our new release of Webix update 3.1, which will take place on 24th of November.

Coming-Soon-Webix-3.1

Not so long ago we were telling about our plans on new features and updates in the Path to Webix 4.0. All the features, that were missed in the Webix version 3.0, have not been discarded and will be included in our next updates.

So, what can you expect from Webix 3.1?

Path to Webix 4.0

You may already be aware of the release of Webix 3.0 only one week ago with more new cool features. That doesn’t mean that we are going to rest on our laurels. What it means is that we have already started working on the next Webix update.

Webix roadmap

To tell the truth, not all features that were planned for version 3.0 were included in the final release. We were a bit over-optimistic with our previous estimates. Nevertheless, features missing in version 3.0 have not been discarded and will be included in our next updates.

Webix UI

Version 3.1 (the date of release is the end of November) will contain the long-expected side-menu component and auto-sizing functionality for menu and buttons (that is mandatory for any multilingual app).

What is more, the next version will have layouts with absolute float positioning and data-map component that will allow you to visualize complex data similar to the next:

Webix 3.0: Webix Jet, Visual Designer, New functionality

Now September is in its most colourful phase and we are happy to present our powerful updates. Today we want to highlight a release of Webix 3.0 that adds two absolutely new ways to build a Webix based app and new features, which are unique, and can’t be found in any other HTML frameworks.

Webix 3.0

Let’s start with 2 major updates.

Webix Jet – framework that works

Webix UI helps you to create apps faster by providing rich widgets. Still the whole app is more complex than just a set of widgets. Developers also need to arrange their code nicely as well as solve such tasks as app routing, state saving, code re-usage and etc. To cover all above concerns, we are introducing micro framework Webix Jet as part of the release. It will definitely save your time and efforts.

Webix 2.5: MS Edge Support, Major Updates in Pivot and Kanban

We are glad to announce our small but effective and long-expected Webix update 2.5! Firstly, we can boast of Microsoft Edge support. Despite this new browser for Windows 10 hasn’t been released yet, Webix widgets already support it. Secondly, we’ve improved our complex widgets such as Pivot and Kanban, as well as added an opportunity to block time in Calendar widget. And the final traditional update is bugs fixing.

If you are too busy to read the whole post, you can download a new library version here.

Microsoft Edge ready

Since the version 2.5, Webix supports Microsoft Edge, which is a default browser for upcoming Windows 10. Microsoft has announced that it would have plenty of JS improvements over IE11 and similar performance to Chrome and Firefox browsers.

Webix is MS Edge ready, which means that your web apps will run flawlessly across a new cutting edge browser as soon as it is officially released (on July, 29).

Webix 2.4: Portlet, Range Slider and Other UI enhancements

We have some great news for you! Webix was updated to the version 2.4 which includes such great enhancements as a new Portlet widget, MultiCombo and Range Slider form controls, naming only the smallest part of all the changes.

Portlet widget

JavaScript Portlet is a layout component that can include another component inside of it. Moreover, it’s possible to re-order portlets by drag-and-dropping them in the necessary position on your web page.

Therefore, you shouldn’t write lines of code to change the arrangement of your web page. All that you need is to grab a portlet by the handler with an inserted widget and put it at the place of future drop which is highlighted by a specific color. Want to check its performance? View this demo.
